Google Workspace is the right buy when the product you want is Gmail plus Docs, Meet, Drive, and Gemini in one seat. ArawaMail is the right buy when the product you want is company-managed inboxes and a public send API on the same custom domain. Gmail is not that API. Most startups that stay on Workspace still pay a second vendor for receipts and password resets.

The problem Workspace seats do not solve

A five-person SaaS on Business Starter pays per user for Gmail. Receipts still need a sending stack. The finance line becomes seats plus Resend or SES. That three-vendor pattern is common after Amazon SES packaged plans in 2026. Cost math belongs on What email actually costs.

ArawaMail packages the opposite: business email mailboxes and a transactional email API on one authenticated domain. Enable Sending requires receiving first. The HTTP from address must be registered, sending-active, and allowed by the API key. The Cloudflare zone name must match the domain.

ArawaMail does not include Docs, Drive, Meet, or Gemini. Do not treat Workspace SMTP relay folklore as an ArawaMail fact, and do not treat Gmail as a Resend-style public send API.

Worked example: five people plus product mail

Five Workspace Starter seats at the Flexible list of $8.40 = $42/month for Gmail and the suite. Annual list is $35/month. Neither figure includes a documented public transactional API. The product still pays Resend, SES, or another sender for password resets.

ArawaMail Pro is $20/month for the company, includes 50,000 transactional sends, and covers 10 team members. A founder who only needs hello@ plus password-reset mail on example.com is buying mail, not a collaboration suite. A team that must keep Docs and Meet should keep Workspace for humans and move only mail + sending if that split is the actual goal.
